Modular Staff Accommodation for Irish Hotels
JM Design Studio partnered with Moduleire to design a flexible, modular solution for hotel staff accommodation across Ireland. The project focuses on creating volumetric modules that are easily manufactured, transported, and assembled, offering a range of configurations to suit various site requirements. From compact single bedrooms to shared living spaces, the designs prioritise efficiency, comfort, and adaptability while maintaining low maintenance needs.
Utilising lightweight materials and standardised elements, our approach ensures the modules can be customised with options like flat or pitched roofs, bespoke furniture, and standalone heating and water systems. The sprint study successfully delivered a set of flexible designs aligned with Irish Building Regulations, hotel standards, and high-level costing needs. As a next step, we propose developing a pilot project in collaboration with a hotel client to refine the designs and further validate the system’s buildability and practicality. This project reflects JM Design Studio’s commitment to innovative modular solutions tailored to real-world applications.
