JM Design Studio, in collaboration with industrial design specialists Elements, developed a highly efficient prefabricated utility cupboard (PUC) concept for Moduleire. This integrated design solution was optimised for annual production of 3,500 units with consideration of volume production and autonation.
Key features of the PUC include:
- Compact Functionality: The design incorporates a 200L ducted air-source heat pump, a mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) system, a consumer unit, and connections for a washing machine and dryer, all within a streamlined, prefabricated unit.
- Prototyping Excellence: The initial prototypes were produced with KEM fabricating the precision metal components, while Moduleire managed assembly.
- Optimised Manufacturing: The design supports scalable production with the potential for a high level of automation, ensuring consistency and cost-efficiency at scale.
This collaborative effort highlights JM Design Studio’s ability to integrate engineering, industrial design, and manufacturing considerations into a seamless product solution.
